The inspiration for my latest creation has been fermenting for quite some time now. On my honeymoon, over 4 years ago now, my brand spanking new hubby and I woke very early for a stroll through the park where we were staying. If you want to check it out, we went to Pipestem State Park in West Virginia. On that walk we came upon a Luna moth. We had never seen one before -- we were blown away. We inspected, watched and took pictures of it for a long time. I just love their antennae -- like little leaves. Amazing evolutionary detail. My latest lamp is of the exquisite luna.
It is now on sale in my shop. This lamp is a completely new design, from the fan shaped panels to the pedestal base. This lamp features piano hinges that are held together with the thin bamboo-like sticks. Each stick slides into a hole in the platform to hold the shade on the base. I dyed the green paper to achieve that lovely luna hue.
I was moved at a timid pace when I created this lovely but I think it was worth it because I am pleased as pie with the outcome.
